Lady Vikings win both games at home against Eastern OK State


On Feb. 13 in Game 1, Grayson College took home a 4-2 victory over Eastern Oklahoma State on Monday.

Grayson College took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Clarissa Peters homered off of Frazier, driving in three runs.

Kylie Williams earned the win for Grayson College. She tossed seven innings, allowing two runs, three hits, and striking out eight. Frazier took the loss for Eastern Oklahoma State. She went four innings, giving up four runs, eight hits, striking out two, and walking one.

Home runs for Grayson College came when Peters homered in the fourth inning and Jacye Grimm homered in the fifth inning.

Grayson College had nine hits in the game. Grimm, Shelby Fleming, and Baylee Goolsby each collected multiple hits for Grayson College. Morgan Lewis and Peters each managed three hits to lead Grayson College.

In Game 2, Marcella McKinney collected four hits in five at bats, as Grayson College defeated Eastern Oklahoma State 12-5 on Monday. McKinney singled in the first, doubled in the second, homered in the fifth, and singled in the sixth.

An early lead helped propel Grayson College to victory. Grayson College scored on a double by Jodie Hill, a double by Marcella McKinney, a double by Jacye Grimm, and a double by Samantha Loving in the second inning.

Eastern Oklahoma State captured the lead in the second inning. Eastern Oklahoma State scored one run when Scarborough singled with zero outs in the second inning.Grayson College took the lead for good with six runs in the second inning. In the second Hill doubled off of Denomy, driving in two runs, McKinney doubled off of Denomy, driving in two runs, Grimm doubled off of Denomy, driving in one run, and Loving doubled off of Denomy, driving in one run.

Tana Davis earned the win for Grayson College. She went five innings, surrendering five runs, ten hits, and walking zero. Denomy took the loss for Eastern Oklahoma State. She pitched four and two-thirds innings, giving up ten runs, ten hits, and striking out four.

Grayson College collected 11 hits. McKinney and Grimm each collected multiple hits for Grayson College.

Eastern Oklahoma State had 11 hits in the game. Lybrand and Gonzalez each collected multiple hits for Eastern Oklahoma State.
